I read this article today about a couple that was married 72 years! They died within a day of each other. Other than taking marriage seriously and sticking it out (I’m sure they had the same problems as we all do, but instead of giving up worked it out), when people asked them for marriage advice the answer was, “Be kind, lift each other up, don’t put each other down.”
I think this is great advice not just for married people, but for ALL people. Wouldn’t everyone be happier, and even a wider thought, wouldn’t the world be nicer to live in if we encouraged, and supported each other?
I know it’s an old saying, but here’s a challenge – for one week if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
